The first sequence of an individual human genome presented by Dr. Jonathan M. Rothberg to James Watson in May 2007.

Dr. Rothberg is the father of Next-Generation sequencing and the founder of 454. In this ceremony Dr. Rothberg presented to Dr. Watson his genome, the first individual human genome (as documented by public release on the entire genome on the world wide web), and the first individual human genome ever done on a chip. Dr. Rothberg was also responsible for the development of emulsion PCR, and clone free shot-gun library preparations that have made next generation sequencing a reality.
