  • When I hear this record, it reminds me of when my father would take me and my older sister and brother over to the shores of the Detroit river to watch the boats come and go back in 1960-61.

  • @xunclexx Good memories.

  • Does Tony Williams have one of the Greatest voices? Sings like a bird!

  • Reminds me of Ma - she loved this. Guess it reminded her of the WWII years. That tenor,Tony, could sing beautifully. How sad this group had such a sad ending, but I'm glad for these recordings. Youtube is so wonderful! Thank you, YouTube. There is so much beauty in the simplicity of these old songs, at least in my humble opinion.

  • Superb rendition of this song by the Platters. What a great sound they had. These guys were the best in their days. No question about it. The Platters were about romance, love, rhythm, harmony, rehearsed perfection.... and ohh what vocals! No group comes even close to that today...

  • On this date in 1960 {Jan. 25th} 'Harbor Lights' entered the Billboard's Top 100 chart, eventually it peaked at No. 8 and spent a total of 16 weeks in the Top 100. This was the 27th record by The Platters to be charted, with a grand total of 40 before they disbanded, they were truly a super group!!!

  • just beautiful....!

  • Platters Rule! Best Vocal group next 2 Boyz II Men and the Beach Boys. Platters are better than the Beach Boys but close to Boyz II Men.

  • Absolutely incredible as they always are

  • You cannot leave The Platters of any lists as one the greatest groups of all time.
