This video demonstrates how to solve quadratic equations by graphing. First, a quadratic equation is converted into a quadratic function. Then, the variables are changed to x and y to graph on a coordinate plane. The solutions are shown where the function crosses the x-axis. Roots, x-intercepts, and zeros are given as synonyms for solutions. Finding roots from a table of values is also demonstrated.

  • dont you have to use the Vx=-B over 2a formula ???/?

  • @ARISR101 You don't have to, but it makes it a whole lot easier if you do because it takes you right to the vertex. If you click the link to my improved video (and you may have done it already), that formula is included in the improved version. Thanks for being so observant. And thanks for viewing.

  • If you plug 0 in for x, how can you get y=6 in the equation 3x^2+5x-2=y?? it's at mark 5:50.

  • @mapatrick99 Good eye. That was an error in the video and one of the reasons I created a newer version uploaded a few days ago. Thanks for viewing and commenting. I'm planning on conducting a contest for someone who does some keen analysis on that replacement video. Thanks for viewing and commenting.

  • @b1eberfan i knew i heard it somewhere....

  • Perhaps you should make a video on the vertex and using -b/2a.
