"On Friday's Countdown Keith Olbermann talked to Newsweek's Richard Wolfe and Former Nixon White House Counsel, John Dean, about Senators Feinstein and Schumer's inexcusable caving on President Bush's Attorney General nominee and an ABC News report that claims former acting Assistant Attorney General Daniel Levin was forced out of the DoJ when he declared waterboarding to be torture — after allowing himself to be waterboarded."

  • American needs another Daniel Ellsberg to finally pull back the curtain of secrecy of the Bushie Neocons so that even the most moronic and brain dead sheep will have to admit that they have been deceived.

  • The gov is walking all over you. It could be you in there being tortured, these are innocent people FFS

  • 9 of the hi-jackers are still alive. so you tell me who is responsible, maybe you are, lets torture you! would you be happy with that?

  • These people are innocent, never charged of a single crime. Just not liked by the gov.

if you want to know if its torture, try filling your bath, hold your head under the water and breath the water into your lungs. Keep this up for for two minutes, then you'll know what these innocent people are going through.

  • That is not what is going on. This is not a Hollywood movie; it's not "Tell us where the bomb is or we'll waterboard you!!" An easy way to tell if it is torture or not is this: If you saw a video of AMERICAN troops being waterboarded by the Taliban or any foreign "group", you would cry, "Torture!!!"...

..see how that works? Don't think with your feelings; use your brain. Torture is torture, no matter how you slice it, and psychological torture is just as real as physical.

  • Okay there's a difference between being anti-torture and being pro-terrorist. No one is pro-terrorist. The problem is that, using az101010's example, the terrorist could simply lie about where the bomb is. That's why torture doesn't work (aside from it being inhumane and barbaric).

Also just to clear up the facts, waterboarding can hurt people both physically and psychologically.

This isn't "liberal mentality," it's just common sense, and I don't think you can disagree with anything I said.

  • waterboarding frightens people- it doesn't hurt them..

when someone has just killed a lot of people and they have a bomb set to kill more- you need to find out from them where the bomb is.. stupid liberals want to treat them with respect- and a sane person would frighten the hell out of them until they told where the bomb was..

being overtaken by the liberal mentality is the worst thing that can happen to anyone..

  • Youre the man dude. Youre the man. If we pamper them, we're gonna have a repeat of 9-11. Water boarding is too good for them if you ask me

  • If you defend the people being waterboarded, you are defending those responsible for 9-11. Watch the videos from that day againa and then get back to me on how you feel about terrorists. I don't give one shit about terrorists because of 9-11. STOP DEFENDING TERRORISTS GOD DAMNIT

  • Waterboarding is not about getting wet. The towel is stuffed into your mouth to keep it open for water to stream in efficiently.

I've heard that drowning is actually very painful.

  • Human rights are not so important. It's all about serving society at the cost of the individual.

I'm pleased that so many people here are encouraging and supportive of torture. This is a great move towards a socialist America that serves society at the mere cost of individual rights and privacy.

The only thing I can think of more awesome than that is my sarcasm.
