This is a Bobber i built from a cheap 1980 gsx250. The engine is small but it cruises just fine at 100/120, It was more about the build than the engine this time, next build will have a few more horsies. Took me 3 weekends, a bit of material and some imagination. the old guy i bought the bike off would murder me if he saw this vid but enjoy and i hope it inspires someone to build one like others inspired me. bike cost 5500SEK and materials were about 3000SEK making it a build (not yet completed) for about 1500 australian dollars.

finished vid is at
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBSPibY6bMk

powdercoating was done by a mate on the frame wheels and odd parts, seat upholstered at a local taylor, speedo and random bobber chopper parts were purchased online. was great for one summers ride the i sold it to bigger and better things. keep an eye out for the next vid. Just bought a mint old xs650 which ill be chopping this spring. keep on riding!

  • hey mate.. just curious what tank did you swap too?? just bought one excatly the same and looking too change the tank.. cheers

  • @abzy69 good move! the old talk looks like a steel showbox with a fuel filler.

tank was off a suzuki gs550 of the same year. if you find one your in luck i had a lot of trouble tracking mine down good news is the under tank sleeves that hold it to the frame line up perfectly and the bolt lock at the rear of the tank is only a cm or two from the the original so its an easy fix.... watch out for the tripple crowns hitting though (made that mistake :S)

    :)

  • what font did you use in this video?

  • @obiwan5150 i dunno dude some english shit :S

  • gs550 next....

  • im lookin at doing the same to mine, but this will be my frist ever build of a motor bike, is there any help you can give me, im confused about the rear swing arm, looks like there's no suspention to me

  • Hel snygg=) bra gjort, ser fram emot att se nästa bygge=D

  • wow...... this looks fukin sweeeeet ..... i see these old bikes for sale , and have seen a few bobbed.....but i never thought one could turn out this good lookin ......nice job dude .....

  • @WheresTheFunInThat no you dont i was ridering around with no mirrors, indicators,no front brake ( just a drum on the back ) with jockey shift yes you need a reg plate every where does

and my bobber was down as a custom build some places can give you a better price if they know you made your pride and joy not just payed for it

  • Awsome.. Thanks for that, this is also my first crack at doing a bobber style bike.. Pretty keen too get stuck in too it.. You wouldn't happen too have any photos or anything of how an where you cut your frame?? My friend is building one also but his is a cb 250 and the frame is alot more straight forward and simple too this one..

    Cheers Adam
