Watch an interview with Steve Reich in which the iconic composer talks about his music and the inspiration behind his iconic Music for 18 Musicians. The film also includes behind-the-scenes footage of the London Sinfonietta and Synergy Vocals in rehearsal for a performance of Music for 18 Musicians in 2009.

  • Wonderful interview, but a shame it's so short. I wonder if an unedited video of the interview in full might surface?

  • This is brilliant. Thanks London SInfonietta! I've seen you guys play Music for 18 once, with Reich on piano 4, as standard. Twas fantastic. This is a really interesting interview - I hadn't heard some of it before, like his references to Stockhausen.
