  • SOunds like you got a prop cavitation issue...not grabbing the water or a hub slip...but nice to see an oldie like that still around.

  • yeah, i changed the prop shortly after.. the prop that was on it in the video was for an 18' cabin cruiser. hopefully the motor keeps tickin

  • @MrPlayer696917 its a 2 stroke. they all smoke, especially if it has been fogged and started for the first time. dont worry about it. Just make sure you get the shop manual on ebay for like $20, its well worth it.

  • hey i have that same motor i broke it out today to get it running and i put it in a 55 gallon plastic drum filled it with water and got her fired up but it smoked a little bit and when i shut it off there was a film of oil on the top of the water i called the local shop and they said it could be the float where is the float located and has anyone had this problem also guy i got it from said it has a cork float so how do i check float

  • that jackplate doesnt have a hydrolic tilt and trim

  • trim up a bit and you will get on plane better and have more speed! Nice o'l motor still running great!

  • trim that thing up a bit

  • Love to see another video after you put the new prop on. Those old Johnsons are classics. Please take care of it.
