**WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY!**

12/18/09: On my last day in the Boston Area before heading home for the holidays for me winter semester break, I decided to do one last session of railfanning before living back in CT for the next few weeks. I slept in due to a HUGE lack of sleep from all if my finals earlier in the week, so I headed out to Weston in the afternoon and hoped for the Q122...which I didn't get. I later heard that it yarded in Boston earlier than scheduled that day. Oh well. I almost froze for nothing, until the P519 rolled through.

Once my dad got to the dorms and the car was loaded up, it was back on the MassPike west to home, stopping at the Steaming Tender Restaurant in Palmer, MA on the way, located at QB 83 on the B&A, the same RR I was fanning on earlier in the day. It turned out to be REALLY Christmas-ed out in some areas, and the food being as good as always. This night marked the one occasion where the rail traffic actually WAITED for me to get done with dinner, as opposed to all the other times where trains would sail through CP-83 while I was devouring chicken and fries... This time I lucked out and got the "Pan Am Pair" both within half an hour of each other. This pair of road freights originate/terminate in Selkirk, NY and head onto Pan Am rails in Worcester, MA where they become the AYSE and SEAY respectfully.

  • Nice one Mike, nothing better to put ya in the Crristmas spirit than some yellow nose, and that was a cool looking Saint Nick too I might add!

  • Hahaha yea, I pulled in the parking lot and saw him walking by...who the HELL does Tom Davis think he IS posing as santa these days!?

But in all seriousness, it was SO nice to actually have to comfort of a CAR this time around, as opposed to almost all the yellow nose nights before this one...

  • Have a good holiday!!

  • Haha I just have one word of advice for you. DRESS WARM, because Palmer is FREEZING at night, its been every time I've gone there this time of year. If you can go on a weekday, you'll see everything.

  • ah yes.... Palmer. a great spot. have been there many times. it's great when you can get Mass Central, New England Central, CSX, & Amtrak all in 1 day. Now..... if i could only figure out how to get my old VHS-C tapes on my computer. LOL

  • Great Video! I have to get out to Palmer soon to do some winter rail fanning!
