A tip someone kindly showed me on how to get past this guy:

Use an erasable marker [ test it out first ], and be ready to quickly write numbers on the screen. Then have your handy wii remote at hand, grab it, press 'B', and draw the dots in the order you numbered on the screen. Got it on the second try when I did that. :)
