On a river rafting trip down the Colorado river, we pulled into Redwall Cavern just as it was struck by a tremendous rainstorm. Soon waterfalls were pouring over the mouth of the cavern and down the walls of the canyon all around. One waterfall was particularly violent, at times with tar-colored muddy water blasting out of it and large boulders crashing to the base with thunderous noise. Though you can't hear them well in this video, you can see a few come down. The storm quickly turned the water from crystal clear to muddy and opaque and you can see this mixing effect in progress in parts of the video.

  • waw c'est intense !!!

  • LUCKIEEE! The 4 times I have been in Red Wall Cavern I haven't seen anything as exciting as that! I brought a rock from my yard in New England, which I buried in the sand next to the back wall on my third trip. That is about as exciting as it ever got. Also went with Diamond River Adventures. Just found out they are no longer in business, though. :(

  • good!)

  • @tails12993 "Colorado" means red (river). spaniards named it. only after the various dams were built, did the river lose its red color. now the silt is settling out in the still water behind the dams. the river is also colder that originally because of the dams. many endemic species have gone (nearly) extinct because of the complete disruption of the river's ecosystem.

  • really great video. one of the best, non commercial (?) vids ever>

and what was the violin concerto?

GOOD WORK BOSTONPATO (from a bostonian-dorchester)

  • Totally amazing! It's hard to believe that The Grand Canyon was carved out by water until you see something like this!
