I thought that white people couldn't become Muslim?
Excuse my ignorance I only know what I've seen and heard on T.V. and that's never reliable so I thought I would ask.

Religion is a personal thing, its a man/womans relationship with their creater. If a family member becomes muslim, he sometimes gets frowned upon, its a persons own choice. Then if they find peace in Islam just be happy for them. There are over a billion muslims and if it was a violent religion earth would be no more.

Praying 5 times a day is mandatory. But the Quran says only 3 times a day. If one does not stick to specific times of the day then that prayer or prayers are considered "invalid".
I too know of many many christians who have shunned drugs.
