Due to the impact of the rapid development of the Chinese economy in recent years, there have been significant changes to previously established Shin Shin schools, the local traffic, and the development of the areas surrounding the schools. This causes the needs of the schools to differ from those of the earlier days. In order to understand the schools current status and the execution of each program (such as One Book Per Student Literacy Program, Computer Lab Program, the English Teachers Training Program, and Follow-Up Special Need Grant), while also maintaining the goal of providing a better study environment in the remote area, a summer fact-finding activity is initiated.
Through the assistance of Xu-Dong Shi, Director General of Peking University Education Foundation (USA) in conjunction with the Youth League Committee of Peking University, Betty Yuan, Chief Operating Offer of Shin Shin Educational Foundation, made the first attempt to work with the student association at a university in China.
