Jalad gets a run at a pigeon during the closed season and before the training start date of 1st July. There was hardly an air and I didn't spend enought time placing the launcher so that he wouldn't pick up the scent of it. That's why he false pointed.

I know that in the video above there is evidence that suggests otherwise but I really don't use sit as a command. My dogs aren't used to retrieve so they don't need to sit to present a bird.
I have been looking at your website - specifically at the drop command, can you explain in what circumstances the drop should be used compared to a sit command ? Many thanks
I used YouTube to host this video to attempt to explain to people on the mainland, via my blog site, just how difficult it is to train a pointer without game and to give them some idea of what I have to do to train my dogs. It just so happens that it subsequently proved of use when I was trying to convince some people that a pointer can be used to work close. I never touted it as Oscar material and I am sure Kristoffer Clausen is hardly quaking in his boots. It will look better on the mountain.
If he is a serious dog man, which apparently he is, he should know that this certainly doesn't give a good impression of his dogs. That dog wasn't hunting, he didn't even run properly.
