On Sept 21 2008, Red.com officially announced that they were making some drastic changes to the Red Scarlett camera. Red announced at NAB 2008 that the Scarlett was going to be a 3K camera for under $3000(US) and was aimed to be on the market in early 2009.
"Forget the design and forget the price. It is all different now. We think you will be surprised."- Jim Jannard of Red Digital Cinema.
Despite what Red Digital Cinema has to say about the upcoming new revisions, it can be predicted by many that this will raise some concern with the indie filmmaking community, as many have had their heart set on the Red Scarlett. This video is to document what was once proclaimed of the future Scarlett.

Scrapped for RED's up and coming ultra-modular DSMC system, which is about a million times more exciting. Plus if you bought a RED ONE you get a $17,500 credit toward your next purchase of a Scarlet or EPIC DSMC.
RED FTW.. I would kill to get my hands on one of their products.
