  • @9394JP731 2 strokes can produce more power if set up right. i do believe britain also wanted the leyland l60 for thr sound as well. very good tank slow so you had to drive them hard which almost always ended up wrecking the engine

  • For what reason did the chieftain adopt the 2-stroke engine instead of conventional 4-stroke type? How is the performance & oil consumption at low speed?

  • 5-stars ...canadas army had centurions and leopard-1a3 and leopard-2...but if you are in a jam call your nearest military base...they may help you out somehow?..they have m880 recovery vehicles to pull you out of the swamp if you get stuck/m-60a3tts milwaukee

  • We used to call the turret movement, "The traverse monster" and she was A unforgiving beast.

  • A Sarry-can is hardly a "tank"!

  • hi ya another ex Tankie here.. glad to see one of these back on the road.. just a small thing, but Chieftain did not use a 7.62mm Light Machine Gun,it used a G.P.M.G(also 7.62mm) by the way i now live here in Canada, any chance i can come round and take it for a spin one day? PLEASE?

  • Hi There

how old is the footage. I used to work on these beasts for many a year. If I can help with anything please ask.
