Twenty years ago today, a talking dog taught the man to say, that the surveillance movie was ok, but it wasn't quite a Shakespeare playyyyy!!!

Wow! I'd never heard a word about Surveillance, but the cover looked great, so I took a chance on it. I loved it! It was a rare happy surprise. Major kudos for your excellent work on it! I had no idea you were involved.
Being in a talkative mood tonight, (haha) I' dlove to know what other people think makes a really good horror film.
For me it's the element of not understanding; wondering what something means, why it happened- more the little things than the whole story or scene. Steven King isn't a literary genius, but he was very good at that for a while. (I think it was during his cocaine phase) Books/films of his like "Carrie" are alright, but a bit too plump for my taste. Anyway, I'll end here, whoops!

I agree, the best horror films are ones that leave you guessing about what's really going on. There's also a real art to letting the audience relax now and then so that you can startle them again - 90 minutes of continuous "jump out" scenes does not a good horror movie make. :)

Had never heard of He Was a Quiet Man, but just went to rottentomatoes and checked out the great reviews, looks like a film I would love. Also as an interesting bit of synchronicity, Surveillance is co-written and directed by Jennifer Lynch. Several of the positive reviews compare He Was a Quiet Man to Jennifer's first film, a very strange and often criticized piece called Boxing Helena. Definitely have to put this one on my "check it out" list, thanks for mentioning it!

I understand. That's why I called it a "little bit of a side trip".
