"Gene Pitney / George Jones" I've Got Five Dollars And It's Saturday Night

Hey!
Well I've been a-working hard the whole week long.
Tonight I'm gonna have some wine, women and song.
Gotta' work next week, but that's alright.
I've got five dollars and it's Saturday night.

[CHORUS]
Gonna' have fun tonight.
Gonna' get right tonight
Everything will be all right
'Cause tonight is Saturday night
Hey!

There's music and a-dancin' and a-flirtin' and fun.
It's gonna' go on until a way past one.
I'm a-gonna' go where the lights are bright'.
I've got five dollars and it's Saturday night.

[CHORUS]

Let other folks worry what the future might bring.
Just to sit and worry won't get you a thing.
My pants may be ragged but that's all right.
I've got five dollars and it's Saturday night.

[CHORUS]

  • que buen duo hacen los cantantes y no es para menos cada uno con su estilo

  • Pretty much, in the mid-to-late 1960s, Musicor Records should have been called G&G Records because the label's two biggest artists, Gene Pitney (who had a share of the ownership of the label) and George Jones (whose manager Pappy Daily had a share of the label) recorded for the label. Musicor fell on hard times when George left for Epic and Gene also left the label.

  • Wine, women and song for five bucks? Those were the days!!! Now for five bucks you'd be lucky to get some rum, bum and concertina!!!

  • atleast 200 dollar nights fo real

  • sweet!! love these G & G duets

  • Ok this lOOKs like a song for me

  • thanks for asong that brings back memory;s

  • Great!!! First comes a George Jones type break then a Gene Pitney.

  • Hi Pikeruss: My childhood would've been way different without gene's eerily beautiful songs and voice. We lost an original when he died. Bless him.
