This video shows my portable NES in operation! I took a GENUINE Nintendo NES console from the 80s, removed the circuitry, and transplanted it into a custom lexan enclosure. It runs on Lithium-Ion batteries ripped from cell phone packs, and the screen is from a PS-One flip screen.

  • NTSC or PAL? My PAL Version (Germany) uses 9V AC. Ur mashine lookes like it use batteries. how did u build the ac to DC converter?????

  • Mine is NTSC...and the NES, despite having an AC adapter, runs on DC just fine.

  • DUCK.....HUNT.....PORTABLE...

  • That would rule, except, the light gun does not work on LCDs. You *must* have a CRT. Not sure about plasmas.

  • Couldn't you make a smaller one with the NES-2 released in 1993?

  • Yes, I probably could except the NES-2 isn't quite the same, even the sound is different. So for the same reason I didn't use a NOAC, I used an 80's NES, for authenticity.
