JOHNNY COOK - While I'm Here

In 1975 the Goodman's put Johnny Cook out front, for some time filling in Vestal's part on stage while she was ill. The fans lapped it up like buttermilk biscuits and gravy. They loved him. Rusty, with Eddie Crook's help, produced Johnny's first solo album. The album was simply entitled: Presenting Johnny Cook VOICE EXTRAORDINAIRE. From that album the Goodman's chose to feature Johnny on stage with his solo "While I'm Here." This recording, now 33 years old, from a concert at the Robinson Auditorium in Little Rock, Arkansas, showcases the power and delivery of Johnny Cook in his prime on stage with the Happy Goodmans.
