Christopher Pittman, was convicted by a South Carolina jury in 2005 of murdering his grandparents when he was 12 years of age and involuntarily intoxicated on Zoloft, an anti-depressant prescribed for him after he had attempted suicide. Judge Daniel Pieper, who had previously denied a defense motion to have the case heard in Family Court, where it clearly belonged, sentenced the young boy to 30 years in an adult prison. Appeals are ongoing.

  • Is there any way we can send mail to Cristopher? We should let him know that there are many people out here who care for him. That he is forgiven. We could take much pain and stress off of him.

  • Hello ConcernedMomSC & viewers of this video, I have a request and as this moving story appears to be a good place to reach the people I'm looking for, I hope it's okay that I post here.

I'm an actor & theatre practitioner in London, currently working on a verbatim project on the AMERICAN HEALTH CARE SYSTEM and needing willing participants to share their views & experiences. Please click my Channel for more info. I'm looking forward to hearing from you, MomSC, or any page visitor. Thanks.

  • I wish the words from this were in print, so I can print them up. I feel the doctor should be held accountable. I'm 33 and have been on anti-depressants for the past 13 years and when I started taking Zoloft, I felt crazy. No child should be prescribed Anti-depressants. Anyone with a brain knows a child shouldn't, so this doctor should be held for his/her actions. Christopher should also be tried as a juvenile. There's no reason he ever should be tried as an adult.

  • I hope this kid gets out of jail and they charge the doctor for uping the dosage

  • I was on Zoloft for a year in the early 90's, & called my Doctor, & spoke with him while behind the wheel of my truck to explain that I have this strong desire to crash my truck at high speed into a concrete wall, his response was. "ooh, we don't need that," and I was already scheduled to see him that day, and we had a prearranged plan for me to call if I experienced another near suicide on my way to his office. I felt manic, clinched my jaw, tightened my neck, daydreaming about crashing.

  • poor lad....heprobably didnt know what was happening when he did it

  • Truly a sad & heart breaking story. We never used to see things like this happen before. Blame should be directly placed on Big Pharma. & Monsanto!

  • I feel so sorry for Christopher. This is such an injustice. It's crazy to hear about peoples' experiences with Zoloft, yet the drug is still on the market. America is going to HELL, not just bc of the prescribed drugs but all the issues we've got going on currently as well. Ugh. I'm disgusted and will pray for young Christopher and his family.

  • Chris Pittman's dad should burn in hell for beating this poor child. What kind of parent beats a helpless child? Pittman's dad should be in prison.

  • was on zoloft for severe ptsd depression 2007. it made me manic in a way i have never been before.i lost 4 friends in one day because i called uncontrollably, was aggressive and saying crazy raging mean stuff that was far from my true character! if i had the energy back then, depression and ptsd=low energy, i woulda also had no hesitation of killing myself. zoloft is brutal compared to other antidepressants docs put me on. i wont ever touch western med drugs. big phara wins again n covers azz!
