Where's the comedy? This part is meant to be spirited, and Leporello is meant to be shivering in fear at the sight he saw. A stark contrast to the powerful scene from before. Mozart and da Ponte knew what they were doing, but it's clear this director didn't.

This has just hit the top of my "Must Buy" list. Quite a number of the M22 DVDs are actually and I've already bought several. What an incredibly rich haul!

This is a horrible Don Giovanni, and this scene makes me mad when it's included (dramatically, but not musically), but Ildebrando is the sexiest man alive and can rock a bass line and an argyle sweater, so all is right in the world.
