@yourworstnightmare71 Ideal while a top horse I think would have been clobbered by both Lutin D'Isgny (who won the two fastest Internationals at Roosevelt of 2:30 in 1984 and 2:31 in '85) and Reve U'don, who won the 1990 International at Yonkers parked five turns in a then-world record equaling 2:28 3/5 for 1 1/4 Miles and nearly did it again the following year, only losing that International to Peace Corps, arguably the greatest trotting mare of all time.

Without fault Ideal du Gazeau was the winner.
Great horse was the French...he was able to race outside and was a great fighter in track.
