How about not inflating the bubble in the first place with easy credit?

To prevent bubbles and future crises is to actually reduce the Fed Reserves power and give that power back to the free market. Bernanke wants to expand the power of the Reserve? That would be the last thing we need. They make swaps in the gold market that ultimately affect the price of gold in a negative way. The Fed is currently building another asset bubble right now and if they can't see it then they're blind. If they couldn't see the last bubble then they were blind.
