Instead, happiness and satisfaction are a function of attaining some self-control, and letting go of particular arrangements of matter, outside our body. To the argument that says, "electrity comes from coal". That's true, but let's first take the power plant out of the car. We are basically driving around with a mini-production plant when we cart around an engine or any other mechanism to convert energy. Why not leave that aspect in a seperate place where space and size are much less of a factor.

The solar cells you could put on a Toyota Prius for example would give you enough charge on a sunny day to travel 5 to 8 miles. Not exactly perfect for long trips, but a bio-diesel/steam hybrid electric generator coupled with electric drive car, with plug-in for commuting would be great.

Governor, I think that the Crower Steam/Internal Combustion engine is a big idea for improving efficiency. I think that kind of engine or a steam/internal combustion hybrid along the lines of BMW's turbosteamer is the best idea if coupled with electric hybrid technology.

Dear Gov. Richardson,

UC Santa Cruz is making it's campus sustainable. They are buying organic food for their dining halls, want to use solar energy, and buy products that are good for the environment. Unfortunately, the regents are planning to tear down redwood trees to expand the campus. Please come to Santa Cruz and tell them that they cannot make the campus sustainable while destorying the local environment. I would film your speech for my documentary. Thank you.
