This episode heavily featured Olivia's feelings, so I'm not including too much of Natalia here. Flashing back, we see the kiss between Olivia and Natalia, and Frank's proposal to Natalia, with Olivia, clearly disappointed, closing the shudder.

Olivia is on Main Street, clearly hesitating to go inside of Farley's for Ladies Night. After seeing two other happy women walk in, Olivia walks in, but is frozen near the entrance, looking around at all the other ladies.

Olivia talks about her feelings towards Natalia to the bartender at Farley's. Olivia is attracted to men, she has a long history with men, she's been married tons of times. But this time, she feels attracted to a woman. Does Natalia feel the same way? Olivia believes that she does, but she's hesitant to come forward because of Natalia's strong Christian faith. The bartenders advice? Move on. Olivia would only be hurting herself in the end. Olivia defends Natalia to the bartender, saying she doesn't know Nat like she does. Olivia gets ready to leave, but a familiar face stops her -- Doris Wolfe.

Olivia pulls Doris aside. Doris says it's not what it looks like, she's just meeting a client at the bar. Olivia doesn't buy it, and Doris soon gives up the act. Olivia is infuriated. After Doris' less-than-subtle report on Emma's 'My Two Mommies' project, she finds Doris leading a secret life? Doris says it's the way she chooses to live. Nobody would have elected a gay mayor. Doris talks back at Olivia, telling her how she looks at Ladies Night after bursting into Doris' office insisting that she wasn't a lesbian. Doris asks how honest Olivia's life is, hanging out at Farley's on Ladies Night. Doris asks if Olivia is a lesbian, which leaves Olivia speechless. Doris said she knew it, and walks away.

Olivia returns home to the Jessup Farmhouse to find Natalia outside. Olivia asks when the big day will be for Natalia and Frank. Natalia says she couldn't give Frank an answer. Where was Olivia? Olivia covers, she had to do errands, and she was just giving Nat and Frank some time alone.

Inside, Natalia is questioning what is wrong with her, Frank is everything anyone would ever want in a man. Olivia says if Natalia feels that Frank is enough for her, she should just say yes. Olivia leaves a distressed Natalia.

  • I'm so glad to see GL being edgey, modern and fresh. This truly is the best soap in history.

  • Crystal Chappell is just an awesome actress

  • Okay, Olivia how many times do we have to tell you that you are not convincing anyone. Miss Jennings, Christina Moore Boudreau, Doris Wolfe, and certainly not this Bartender. You are in such a state of denial. No wonder why you broke down on Natalia's Wedding Day.

  • @TheRescueMission And doesn't she, though?! She told Olivia the truth!

  • Makes me wish all the more that Guiding Light was still on the air. A couple of years before GL's cancellation, TV Guide to proclaimed it to be "one of the best shows you are not watching." Based on what I just watched, that may very well be true.

  • @retroiowagirl86 I agree!

  • I had not idea how good "GL" was before it was canceled. This makes me wish it was still on the air. I don't like any of the soaps left at all, and never hardly watch tv anymore. I loved the night scenes and the quick outdoor shots. Reminded me of British soaps, which are still relatively healthy and watchable and not all on death row waiting for the plug to be pulled like U.S. soaps.

  • lol i love the way doris says "hanging out" and then asking her if she is a lesbian. Gosh,I love Olivia but Doris was super cool in this scene!

  • She should have told her that she loved her.

  • You know, I've always thought they were having two different conversations. But now I wonder, if Nat brought up Frank proposing b/c he respected her religion, as a way to let Liv to know that to get involved with her would require a full comittment and Nat's faith would be part of that commitment. Hmmm....

  • the Bartender has a point here.

  • "...and here you are..on ladies night... hanging out!" I love Doris here!
