Volvo Trucks has focused on vehicle safety since the earliest days of the company. And over the last 80 years, Volvo Trucks has been responsible for a long list of safety innovations. Most famously, Volvo Trucks invented the three-point seatbelt. In 1974, the first Volvo truck with safety belts as standard equipment was delivered to the US. It continues to be standard on every Volvo truck.

  • When was VEST introduced on Volvo trucks?

  • @BudleighSaltertonBoy Volvo introduced VEST at the Mid-America Trucking Show in March 2005. At the same time, Volvo announced plans to make VEST a standard component on all Volvo highway tractors.

  • Had a 2007 vn670 with d12 465 and it pulled much better than my 2009 with isx 485. New trk has d13 425 eco-torque and i-shift. Have to admit it grows on me. 13000 mi now and it pulling better every day and fuel mileage up to 6.8 mpg with gross wt of 80000. Its the first volvo that the mirrors don't shake when going down the road. Just wish it was about 1000 pounds lighter weight

  • I drive a volvo 670 2006, just las week I notice, that there was a leak on the turbo charger, I found out , that it was a loose clamp, I called parts dpt, and they said, volvo DO NOT SALE the clamps for the turbo, and that I needed to buy a brand new turbo charger. so I HAD TO BUY A NEW TURBO 2800dlls installed at VALLEY TRUCK CENTER OF LAREDO, Laredo, tx DO NOT GO THERE !!!

  • Buying a volvo was the biggest mistake of my life, volvo engine is very expensive, and is not worth it ,to pay high repair bills, volvo D12 465hp has no pulling power. I wish , I had

    cummins engine on it. I WILL NEVER BUY A VOLVO TRUCK AGAIN .
