A new study shows that ground source heat pumps not only work but are also more affordable than traditional forms of heating in some parts of Alaska, including Seward, Juneau and Fairbanks. For the full report, visit http://cchrc.org/ground-source-heat-pumps.

It depends on the cost of electricity and the cost of energy in your community. Heat pumps make the most sense in places with high heating costs and low electricity costs, like Southeast.
