About this song:

I have a funny relationship with this song. It's good because it sounds like Owl City... but it's bad because it sounds like Owl City. This was the last song written for With Love From Where You're Not, and was mostly an afterthought. I have to admit that the lyrics swing way toward the poetic end of that lyrical scale. Just like Owl City. I have copped a share of flak for that - but to this I answer: it was meant to be that. Summertime's End is not Owl City, and my other songs hopefully prove this - but this song was written as my tribute to Owl City, if you will, and for my love for his kind of music. (And of course, who can resist dancing to that instrumental?)

Oh my, this is just so blissful~ :) And just wondering but are you using a synthesizer? If so what kind because I want to get into synthpop. :3

@halo0rap I guess so. This particular lead was made in the inbuilt ES2 synth in Logic, so it wasn't a real outboard synth. But any synthesiser can do this lead. It's just a sine wave with zero attack, zero sustain and a medium-length release.

@HashtagHelloTayLo Haha I'm not fantastic, I use Melodyne. Helps to polish up the vocals a little. Just like Owl City. You two sounded great on your own! In terms of collaboration, I hate it from my end. I mean, if you wanted me to sing, I'd be happy to send vocals, but every time I've done it the other way around it's ended in sadness. It almost ruined the duet off my next album 'cause my vocalist didn't send me the right stuff! :\
