I personally installed multiple units on this Hummer I am the engineer that is listed on their EPA Documents for the OBD 2 compliance I have since then developed a digita unit that far exceeds the one shown here mye85kit com check it out
Even the US Energy Information Administration says that out of our current 146 billion gallons of gasoline/year now, we can't expect it to replace even 1 billion gallons/year by 2030.

Only reason we're doing it at all is just to please Iowa, and distract the public from real solutions. Like Ultra Clean Diesels, and Plugin Electric Hybrids.
I agree that wasn't the best way to change things. But at least he's changing a tad bit. I mean, reducing his consumption even a little on a vehicle like that makes a big difference... given that the alternative is running on his regular fuel. Btw note that he said he doesn't experience the huge loss running on E, that's cause he had it programmed for it.
A HUMMER, H2, gets about 10 MPG on regular gasoline. That means he's getting about 7-8 MPG on ethanol. The best energy conversion of oil to ethanol is 1.5, which means he's using the equivalent oil of a 12 MPG car. A much better choice would be to buy a Ford Escape Hybrid, which gets up to 36 MPG. He would reduce his consumption of oil by 70%! That would be the way to "Kick the Oil Habit"!!!
