This is 'Contrapunctus II' by Jacques Jurgens. It is a spiral canon that modulates to cause the next repetition to start one whole note lower than the previous one: in other words, if one starts the canon on C, one will start the next repetition on B flat. It can continue downwards like that endlessly.
The recording features an orchestral version of the full canon, followed by a first repetition on flute, oboe, and bassoon (as mentioned, starting one whole note lower). The top part is played by the flute alone at first, and then is passed to the oboe when the top and and bottom parts are flipped around. Then the first repetition ends with both the flute and the oboe playing the top part. Then the flute and oboe start with the first few notes of a second repetition (again, one whole note lower than the first repetition), which ends off the recording.
I've used a generic name, since I plan on adding more contrapuntal compositions that could include fugues, canons, and free counterpoint. (I have borrowed the term 'contrapunctus' from Bach's 'Die Kunst der Fuge', but I can only hope one day to approach his mastery of the art ;-). The compositions I plan on adding won't necessarily increase in complexity as in Bach's scheme; I've merely used the same naming convention.)
Thank you for listening!

Thank you so much! And thank you for listening!
The minimum requirement for joining the group is an appreciation of Neo-Baroque music, so I am sure that you qualify ;-). At this stage the group is just a way to showcase compositions in a central place, to help members discover new pieces and their composers; the aim is to be easier and quicker than browsing and searching manually.
Thanks again!

This sounds very much like it was written in the Renaissance era. You should totally write music for video games that take place during the Renaissance time period. You'd be good. =)

Thank you for your comment, Bryan! It doesn't follow Renaissance rules, but if it conjures up images of that age, who am I to argue? ;-) Thanks again!
