@djentangle I think a normal back protector would only cover the mid part of the spine leaving neck and bottom exposed.
And the normal protectors are rigid and this is soft...
But yes there are other quality products out there some much more expensive. Makes me wonder if I should buy one...

The fact is, if you wiped out and had crazy inflatable leathers that meant you could fly into a car and get up again, everyone would automatically class you as a hero, whereas if you were in bit's they would just be upset.

wouldn't a good back protector sorta protect you the same way, maybe not with the hyperextension of neck if your head was to go back, but that's why i have a speed hump.. i think the neck collar ones are alot better... so it protects your neck in all directions and also for compression..

@3N3R91Z3 If you go forward the helmet protects your face. The air bag helps your neck from being snapped backwards. It's not there to absorb impact.
