you cannot install r-38 in 2x4 walls. compessing in to fit in a cavity 1/4 the size of what it meant for does not give you better insulation. and what i think this guy is talkin about is spray foam. blown in inslutaion is installed in attics and finished walls that have no insulation behind them.

@Chrvl88 Cellulose is pretty good but it is bad for over the years and will eventually fall down in the bottom of the wall after about 40 to 50 years. Just like regular insulation. The only thing i know that could also last is foam. But it is flameable. Foam and Cellulose are both not very cheap. But also Cellulose is just as flameable as foam since it is made from newspaper.

If you want a good job done with soundproofing, leave it to the experts! Get QuietRock. It’s effective and reasonably priced as well!

you're like the only dude from "expert" village that actually knows what he's talkin about. Brownie Points for you

Sweet sixteen studio? Enough said...

Apparently you haven't taken chemistry as those words are NOT interchageable. Apparently you took the "high school" level chemistry class... DJDMass got it right... you...Epic Fail.

the words are interchangeable. Ever taken chemistry?
I tried doing it on the cheap and filled the gun with cottage cheese.

Okay I missed it the first time I posted a comment that you said you used blow isulation but why are you telling these people to use R-38 roll stuff?? That will not fit in a regular stud wall! Cellulose is way better than roll stuff if your on a budget. Plus it will insulate better. Remember what he says. Mass is better.
