I got a 2nd GoPro so I could simultaneously film multiple views when flying. I like the perspective from the step but wanted to be able to film both directions without stopping to flip the camera. I fabricated a simple mount so that I could have both cameras mounted to the step facing forward and backward. This is just a sample video and a few pictures of my mount. The bends you see in the picture are intentional since the step is not level. The video was actually taken prior to making the bends so you'll notice it's a little wonky.

Filmed with 2 GoPro HD Hero Motorsports
Edited with Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platnum.

  • Good job on the mounts.

  • @teammicro1 Thanks.

  • Nice videos!

Is it really really safe to use the suction mount to mount it outside of the aircraft?

I'm afraid it might disconnect due to vibration and fast wind.

If it falls it can kill somebody and seriously destroy property.

Have you ever had any experience with the suction cups?

    Thanks

  • @paivaprod I don't really trust the suction cup either for flying which is why I made the mount you see at the end of this video. I have used the suction cup mount on my car and it seems to hold extremely well but don't plan to use it on the plane. I have seen several videos where people have used them on planes and haven't heard any stories of them falling off but you're right, it would be a dangerous projectile if it did.

  • @paivaprod I think you're exaggerating a bit, yeah it might break a window, but it won't seriously destroy property. Its a micro camera, not an aerial bomb.

  • that is boss...nice landing too

  • Love the runway!!

  • perfect landing!!!

  • Nice soft field landing! Good music too (:

  • @mhardy006 i used Curved Adhesive Mounts on the wing tip of my 150 and it didnt fall off in a 100 mph cruse flight for an 30 min, but i wouldnt do it again.
