This television footage shows Marina Semyonova in a non-classical ballet role - perhaps devised for the small screen.

If it's in fact something from the standard Russian repertoire of the time, does anyone know what it is?

  • i think it's from boston waltz

  • hi mareandzoe - yes it is from 'Boston Waltz' and was choreographed for the film 'Nastenka Ustinova' (1934). cheers

  • hi again mareandzoe - in fact i've separately uploaded this footage as 'Marina Semyonova - 'Boston Waltz' (1934)' cheers

  • I could be wrong but I'd think this would predate television. It's a bummer they don't show more of her feet and legs.

  • @NotADood - ye, i agree - it's looks like just film footage - and i totally agree - the photographer was not a dancer - chopping off her legs and feet so often!
