err. what a bunch of assholes comment this video tbh, vai or gilbert? who cares, both are great and neither would care who is better, in terms of "who has done more for guitar/instrumental music" vai pwns him, vai is great and so is gilbert!!! also completely diff types of music aswell

Never mind... found it... Bruce Boulliet...

Absolutely! After seeing Paul play I was so bored for the rest of the concert. It seemed like Petrucci and Satriani had no stage presence and their songs were just them wanking. Paul actually put on a SHOW, not just another nerdy guy playing guitar for other nerdy guys.

Sorry for making you read this LONG reply. But Hurry Up always makes me filled with joy. It has seriously changed my life. I am hard music critic. Rarely has a song had such an effect on me.
BTW, in terms of alternate picking:
Paul Gilbert = 15 notes per second
Steve Vai = 13 notes per second
PROVEN!!
Thank you so much for the upload. This is the best live Hurry Up yet. The only problem I have is THE LOW VOLUME!

And how innovative the album is; instead of playing guitar, he came up with ideas that NO ONE thought of before, like the "three string guitar solo".
And instead of mainly neoclassic influences like others, he puts in country, punk and southern rock influences, which is for the most part, a first.
Simply put, GOOMY is one of the best guitar albums of the past decade.
I can't wait for the next PG instrumental album...

And Hurry Up is one of my absolute favorite all time songs....I have favorited nearly every video of Hurry Up on Youtube.
Seriously, it always invokes joy in my ears. Even though it is Rush influenced, I cannot find any Rush guitar parts as joyful as this one.
I was SO surprised at how good GOOMY and Hurry Up were. I know that it was going to be a good album, coming from Gilbert The Innovator...but it totally blew me away.

Yes there is. But not an official one.

Indeed the harmonized guitars add a sense of grandeur to the song. Absolutely amazing choice for Satriani to add Gilbert to the lineup. One of the best players of G3 so far, in that he made his time in G3 unique (he didn't just play songs. He was the life of this tour and the most anticipated player)

I 100% agree with you! I've been a Paul Gilbert fan for a very long time (early Racer X days) and I was absolutely pumped that I got to see the G3 with Gilbert (twice). Bruce joining Paul was an added bonus. One fan leaving the venue in LA summed it up perfectly. "Steve who?"

(continued) (I don't want to compare apples and oranges but Paul seems like a very "regular" guy and seems very humble, unlike Vai. His tone is about as clean as it gets and his accuracy is simply mind-blowing. There are very few guitar-players that can make me enjoy a whole album of instrumental music. Paul can, Steve can't. Before anyone decides to attack me for my opinion. It is just that: MY OPINION)
