oh boy... Karateka that isnt just another point fighter with balls. Ratcliff is the shit.

Did he connect with the heel? Just a brutal technique. These MMA fighters are not payed enough. It's just not worth it! A spinning hook kick using the heel and connecting to the temple could possibly kill you.

@ramrod20042000 Fighters have given and received many full contact spinning heel kicks, is there any evidence of any individuals of normal brain health dying after one?
-
@Kenyawn At my Dojo spinning heel(hook kicks) to the head. Were banned in sparring but you could use the bottom of the foot. Connecting to the temple(using the heel) will knock your opponent out. And might cause bleeding on the brain.

@ramrod20042000 Evidence of this ever happening?

awesome. that's definitely patrick laughing. i miss san diego. ed "9mm" rocks!

@FreekyDeeky21 cerrone won cause his intentional groin kicks which definitely weakened 9mm. Cheap shots that he used cause he knew 9mm could surprise him and beat him with his kicks. I believe it was part of cerrone's strategy to groin kick him and make it look like accidental groin kicks, I mean c'mon there were at least 4 groin kicks, there's no way they were accidental/unintentional. 9mm will come back strong!

i really was hoping he would have beaten Donald Cerrone but maybe next time.
Edit : Is it me or did he not do enough low kicks in that fight?

@FIGHTSEEN Karate kicks are legit, at high levels they are easy 1 hit KOs if they land on the chin, they are just very innaccurate and giving your back to a wrestler or grappler like that isn't always the best idea.

Love it when the karate guys go "old school" like that.Karate can work as part of a "tool box" approach in MMA.Doubt it could work as you main style.Take it to 'em this Saturday ED!
his stand up is karate but i have no doubt he does MT/boxing/kickboxing as well but he is very proud of his Karate back ground and states it in his interviews...and no doubt he trains in BJJ as well
