During an interview in 1995, Michael was asked if he was looking forward to getting back on stage. He thought for a moment and then said:

"Umm~I miss the fans. That's my chance to, you know, get to see them and feel their presence.

When you do a concert, and it's like, a hundred thousand people out there...and its a song you wrote in a little hotel room somewhere~and you see a sea of people all singing the lyrics in unison and holding up candles...

And you go, WOW! You know... it really just makes your heart happy. And thats what makes you feel like everything is okay."

The love shared between Michael and his fans is like no other. He often said that he did not take this love for granted, and never failed to tell us that no matter how much we may love him...he loved us more.

I believe it was this love (along with his strong personal faith) that uplifted, carried and inspired Michael during some of his darkest days and lonliest hours.

I created this piece with that thought in mind~ from the perspective of Micheals appreciation for his fans and all that their love meant to him. I truly feel this love did encourage him to take great leaps of faith.

I purposely tried to limit myself to exclusively using footage from the Victory, Thriller and Bad eras. However, you will see that a bit of Dangerous and History made their way into the work.

I really love this song by R. Kelly. It begins with a whisper and closes with a resounding chorus. I felt this clearly illustrated how Micheal moved quietly yet deliberately from one era to another...always being motivated by his love for his fans and his desire to give them his best.

That is my desire as well~to give Michael my best.

As always, I hope this piece does him justice.
