Intro for the Cryo's game Ubik

Intro for the Cryo's game Ubik. The storyline was inspired from the novel of the same name by Philip K. Dick.

Translation:

Joe Chip speaking

My name is Joe Chip.
I'm in charge of operations for the Runciter Associates Agency.

My konapt was destroyed by an Hollis Corporation agent so i now live in my office in the Runciter building.

Hollis is specialized in industrial spying. It sends agents with advanced psi capacities to infiltrate companies and steal secrets.

My job is to find and nulify the agents. In order to accomplish my task i also use psi agents.

Most people would tell that is use old methods but i love to think we are the best.

-- The game was not really good but the atmosphere was excellent : videos, sounds, music .. All the time sliding stuff was nicely translated :same videos showed with backward zoom etc when returning from the moon for ex. etc... I had to get my old pc to make it works it needs dx3 stuff and wont work with more recent hardwares, at least for me .... I have other videos showing the different character and a trailer just comments if you want them too. Cheers. PX

Afair it was for windows95/98 with DX3 compatible video/sound card so to run it i guess you need an old pc with such a video card.. I dont think this can run with dosbox..

Regarding gameplay i did not succeed in running the game but there should be a trailer showing some gameplay (even it the final game was not as fun as it was looking in the trailer:)). Will post it if i find and if it is in a readable format.

@AnaiBendai I rented it back in the 90's, but I remember it had rough graphics and combat was a chaotic mess. Never bothered playing it more than an hour.

Don't know how in the hell I missed this game... I played EVERY other single sci-fi game from 1981 to 2012. Where did this come from? Is it still available? Where?

@alreadyforced That is why i keep a my old Pentium 166 functioning, so i can play all old Win and DOS games with no problem.

@plopXY this game also came out for the PS1. so you could potentially get one of those fancy PS1-emulators and run it like that.
