We've had record rains this year in Volusia County. This has meant a lot more critters than usual (frogs, squirrels, rabbits, snakes, etc.) as well as the predators that feed on them. We had a family of three swallow-tailed kites flying overhead for weeks. When the kites left, this hawk took over the neighborhood. This video was taken in June, so the hawk was probably on his way north for the summer. They pass through Florida on their annual migrations, but generally do not remain here during the summer.
