Alzado retired at the end of the 1985 season. He attempted a comeback in 1990. but injured a knee during training camp and was released. In 196 career games, he racked up 112.5 sacks, 24 forced fumbles, and nearly 1,000 tackles, while earning Pro Bowl honors in 1977 and 1978.
Alzado died at age 43. He is buried at River View Cemetery in Portland, Oregon.

Al Davis also tried to get Howie Long to come out of retirement and play again, so this wasn't a surprise to me! RIP Darth Raider and Al Davis!

@edmari440 yea he does but i played on the defense of line "nosetackle" in college and in all honesty when a team marches down field like that and your exploding off giving it your all you do get very tired no matter what shape your in
