In ancient times, people naturally used the sun and the stars to learn their way home. Approximately two thousand and five hundred years into their recorded history, during the Spring and Autumn period in 722-481 B.C., the Chinese invented the first most primitive compass to guide their way.

Today in our Five Thousand Years segment, will we introduce you to another one of the four great inventions of China - the compass.
