The 70s was the decade when we had regular excellent one hit wonders & this is one of the best.
This is my little effort to give you something to look at whilst you watch this classic late 70s hit.
The video has pictures of taxi's & cabs from around the world with a few humorous one's thrown in for good measure

  • If the taxi rank is based in Birmingham, why isn't the controller Asian?

  • A local radio DJ played this to death at the time. He thought it was a classic. And then it disappeared without trace. I had completely forgotten it until I came across it here. It really has stood the test of time. Love the accents. Good song.

  • @ThePhunckyOne

Ofcoure I can! This song was released in the late 1970's - long before "Asian" controllers took to the job. It might interest you to know that that there have been "non-Asian" taxi controllers in Birmingham for almost a hundred years - and there still are.

  • oh my god I have been hunting for this for years.....thank you soooooooooooooooo much
