Great tut and I concur with everything EXCEPT the arbitrary 3000x3000 pixels for the image; go with either 2048x2048 or 4096x4096 and then scale down at the end of whatever project you're doing for whatever platform you're going for (if you're producing something commercially you probably already understand why to use those numbers; if they're unclear I recommend doing some study on graphics cards and computer graphics in general).

11:14 When I start clone painting the mesh all I get over the texture is a white brush. How can I change that so the clone brush brushes the front view over the Unwrap texture?
Obviously, the Front is selected underneath Project Paint in the Tool bar so there doesn't lies the problem.

thanks i wont make the barrel like you ask :( im really sorry but ther is a really great one you can find in cgcookie.com go to the search box and type barrel great tut among uthers and they are all free i will how ever be making on on how to add texture to a wooden wall using bump maps thanks for your coment
