  • Seriously, the shihan's technique without weapons was horrible. If this is the skill I can hope to attain by training in Japan, i think I'll pass.

  • I found this video very insightful and Doug Wilson is clearly a skillful fighter. But for me Jason Chambers was much stronger at the hand to hand engagement.

  • Dont let guys like Doug Wilsom fool you ! hes not as skilled as other people in the bujinkan....there is some very skilled fighters you just need to find them ....

  • @jedicapra The best I've seen with weapons in the Bujinkan is Kacem Zoughari. He is lethal.

  • @loxley75

The hazard of "killing someone" is a typical BS dojo-smart "masters" often hide behind whenever someone confronts them with experienced fighters.

That's why it's a good idea to include some serious randori in your training.

  • Don't fuck with 10th Planet with your hands!

  • its a pretty useless art if the only thing you are able to do is kill someone! Most street fights dont involve actual murderers who are trying to kill you, they involve big hard drunk idiots who are going to try and batter the shit out of you with their fists and then when one or both of you lose your balance lay the boot in. Being up on a manslaughter charge becuase of a bar fight is not really sensible.

  • ...and he ended up bleeding. So much for that. And one last thing: Those Bujinkan masters who are really good will not be found on Youtube so if you want to see the best guys go to a dojo instead of being a Youtube warrior. I never ever commented on these negative opinions before but I kinda got fed up. Anyway, I didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings.

  • ... I'm in the Bujinkan and even I don't agree with things, like the way they hand out grades sometimes but you know what, I don't care!!! Why? Because I'm chasing knowledge and not grades! I've been practising for over 12 years and I'm only a nidan and not because I'm crap but because I think I don't deserve a higher grade just yet. I focus on learning and practising instead of collecting dans. Oh, by the way, the style works, I was attacked on the street and the guy couldn't even touch me...

  • Apparently some people just can't miss out every single opportunity to slag a style which in their opinion is not good, crap or whatever and think they are very educated in the topic. If they are so smart, why do they keep forgetting the most important thing: when it comes to a real fight it's never about the style but the person. And only because they see some not-that-believable bujinkan videos they think they know everything about the style. Here's the thing: ...

  • 15th Dan doesn't mean he's not human and that he doesn't make mistakes.

Plus Jason.C is definitely a strong ground combatant.

I trained with Doug once and it's enough to tell me he's a great man both at art and character.
