A personal crisis has become an international crisis, just because of someone's attitude and irresponsible act. One's war hero is another's war criminal. War heroes have become enemies.SF is claiming GR committed crimes just because SF didnt get due credit for winning the war. GR is collecting evidences assuming he makes a smarter move beforeSF get him checked-mate. Pro-Eelam peers are watching anxiously until war secrets come out.
They say evidences lead to arrest of General Fonseka have been surfaced in Sri Lanka. Those can be more useful for law breakers and human rights preachers, like Prof. Boyle, TAG Diaspora, AI, HRW, and Eelam sympathaizers than Sri Lankans who are shocked by the arrest of General Fonseka. Those (ill)legislators (bogus)preachers drop Sri Lanka war and take Iraq investigation for mastering an illegal war in Iraq. Sri Lanka defended itself from terrorism. Sri Lankans are aware both parties committed to defeat most ruthless terrorism in Sri Lanka. In a war situation casualties are inevitable. Do not label them as genocide or war crimes. The situation has blown out of proportions. Sri Lanka is again unrest. Who should be responsible for the situation? We urge both parties to give up resentments and solve the issue before it further escalates to another civil war. General Fonsekas arrest by government and General Fonsekas irresponsible statements of betrayal of Sri Lankan Security Forces are unacceptable. Lets not betray Sri Lanka. Lets not let suffer our people. Lets not waste our lost lives. Lets not be divided. The country need all! When right, keep it right. When wrong, make it right! Release General 5:15, Shake hands!
Mr. Wimal Weerawansa (Leader, National Freedom Front) surfaced reasons lead to arrest of General Sarath Fonseka, the former Commander of Sri Lanka Army and Chief of Defense Staff of Sri Lanka.
He said Sri Lanka military forces were disciplined and as a result of that Sri Lanka could win the war (against a ruthless terrorist organization LTTE ). Military shouldnt be politicized like other institutes in Sri Lanka(police, and civil administration). Thats why those politicized institutes are not productive unlike military. Thats why discipline of Military is vital to avoid future threats.
He said that Military Police of Sri Lanka has sufficient evidences of violations of code of conduct of Sri Lanka Military by General Sarath Fonseka during his tenant as Chief of Defense Staff.
1.The evidence of a discussion between General Fonseka (during visit to USA) and JVP Secretary Mr. Tilvin Silva to obtain on matters relating to national security and military affairs during the period as he was Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) of Sri Lanka Security Forces.
2. General Fonsekas public statements (Sunday Leader Gota Ordered 3:46 interview, public rally in Ampara 3:48) that LTTE surrenders were ordered to kill. (Personal attack on Mr. Gotabaya Rajapakse)
3. Statement made by a UNP MP (Mr. Mangala Samaraweera) 4:7 where he himself (Mr. Samaraweera) and Mr. Ranil Wickramasighe had secret discussion with General Fonseka while General Fonseka was CDF.
4. General Fonsekas statement to BBC 2:55 that he was prepared to testify alleged war crimes against anyone, if anyone has committed any war crimes and he (or Army or people are) not prepared to protect any war criminals.
5. Information of General Fonseka had a list of people to be liquidized within 24 to 72 hours if he wins the presidential election 2010.
6. Every army officer is bound to answerable up to six months after retirement to any charge while on duty, as specified by military law and if found guilty court marshaled.
7. Government and the Military of Sri Lanka have to take action against the allegation with evidences 4:42 against him and he can prove himself that he is not guilty.
Mr. Weerawansa challenged General Fonseka to speak straight as the former Commander without using the 'if' term merely to keep others in suspense.
If no action is taken against General Fonseka for violating military code of conduct, discipline of defense establishments cant be upheld. I
Media Briefing by Minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena also brief the evidences 7:38 lead to arrest of General Fonseka and denied physical assault on General Fonseka while arresting him and Mrs. Anoma Fonseka visited General Fonseka. He requested media not to take political mileage on the situation by fabricating incorrect information. General Fonseka is not held in a cell and treated as the former CDS.
Opposition (Ranil 5:20) protests in 5:47 mass, 6:24 Anoma, 6:33 Tissa, 6:49 JVP, 7:06 Mangala demandingrelease of General Fonseka

2"Under no circumstances can we endorse the arrest of a war hero who delivered the country from the clutches of terrorists," the monks said in a letter to MR, a copy of which was seen by AFP.
As the battlefield architect of the victory over the Tamil Tiger rebels last May, Fonseka was feted for finally crushing their 37-year campaign for an independent Tamil homeland. The state-run radio station reacted by warning the monks against dabbling in politics and becoming an opposition mouthpiece.

M-8Fonsekas involvement with the assassination of Lasantha was confirmed emphatically by the Defence Secretary, Gotabaya Rajapakse, to the correspondent of The Strait Times. It is a statement that strikes a like bolt from the blue on the journalistic establishment. Yes, of course. We know there was no other person. You have to see the circumstances. Some of the media people harmed had never criticised any other person except him, or people close to him."
