Because TVLand does not know what it is to have decent material on TV.TVLand is crap. You have a better chance on finding it on your local channel at 2 in the morning.

I didn't grow up in Philly but I've always loved it. Angie was another great show set in Philly. I can't think of any other sitcoms set there though. Maybe Amen or Boy Meets World.

Why does the kid in the closing (Brad Savage) look familiar? Maybe a brother of the Wonder Years kid?

Anyone know the name of the intro music and if it's available?

theyve been doing this for yrs, apparently. They need to stop giving the successful actors/characters of a separate show their own spinoffs, tho I love Felix, the only really successful spinoff has been Frasier :D

What was that joke about the hockey player and "chaos"?

These credits are from the episode "Franklin in Love" {12/16/76}.

Gary David Goldberg, who worked on the series, recalled in his autobiography, "Sit, Ubu, Sit", that creators/co-executive producers Tom Patchett & Jay Tarses refused to talk to ABC's chief programmer Fred Silverman, or take any calls from him. Gary believes this was why the network failed to renew the show after its first season, even though it was pulling in a 27 rating share [more than enough to warrant a second season]....

....Goldberg also recalled Patchett & Tarses weren't taking any input from Tony, either (unlike his contributions to "THE ODD COUPLE"). As Gary remembered it..."'What's the name of this show again?', Tony likes to ask, holding up a copy of the script. 'Oh, look,, it's 'THE TONY RANDALL SHOW'! And I'm Tony Randall. Shouldn't I have something to say?'". When CBS bought the series for season two, Tony's condition for returning was that he wouldn't have to work directly with Patchett & Tarses...

This was one of my favorite sitcoms at the time, with a great ensemble cast. As I recall it was abandoned by one network and then picked up by another for the following season (was it CBS to ABC?), where it remained intact except for a new actress playing Judge Franklin's daughter. One recurrding character missing from the end credits here was "Mario Lanza, Assistant to the Assitant District Attorney." One of my all time favorite TV shows, for sure. Why doesn't TV Land bring it back??
