Two weeks of Polish -Jewish "fructiferous cultural collocation" at my site is over. It was important for me experience and I want to thank to my friends for all interesting and nice words received.

Could anyone help me to know who can be that Jewish boy with Polish magazine, 1931 ?

He was as you know such a great man who rather than save his own life went with many of his children into the gas chambers.

I'm enjoying listening to this popular Yiddish song sung and orchestrated in a typical Polish tango style. A beautiful version. Thank you for the Jewish-Polish cycle. We'll now stick around for the lovely pre-war Polish tangos sung by Stefan Witas et al. and for other goodies of the period.

Never heard this song sung in Polish. My mother was born in Southern Poland in the section known as Galicia.Mostly populated by Poles, Jews and Ukrainians. She was prepared to come to this country in 1921 but when She was ready to sail the laws were changed and She needed money for a Visa.She didn't want to return to Poland. While waiting for the money to be sent by My aunt She worked for a Jewish family taking care of their 2 children, so if it wasn't for a Jewish family I wouldn't be here.
