  • I met James Moody in Philadelphia when he was playing at a tiny club named trey's. I was with a friend from Temple who was studying to be a conductor. I was studying saxophone.

We clapped and jumped up and down after each tune. When the set was over, he ran over to us, looking at us like we were crazy. He talked to us and understood our enthusiasm when we told him that we were aspiring musicians. He spent his entire break with us.

  • Wow. I dig the War original, but Mr. Moody took it to another place and a different level with a whole new vibe.

  • Mr. Moody, is so technically 'orthodox' - in his approach to playing. But due to his incredible facility; he is fantastically lyrical and virtually limitless ...,

  • Fantastic tune.

  • Incredible Harmonious Flow... Peace Be with yu James Moody...

  • That this man is partially deaf makes him even more amazing. RIP, moody.

  • Beautiful, RIP James Moody
