@lilbro209 I would love to see it, too!... But, like I said in my comment, I only have it on AUDIO tape - not video. I wanted to post the audio tape because even without seeing it, the humor - both scripted and ad-libbed - is side-splitting!

I have this Friars Roast in its entirety, from the opening NBC peacock to the closing credits - including commercials...It was on Kraft Music Hall. (Unfortunately, my recording was on audio tape, and I'm an internet "luddite"...I have no idea how to post it.) This is the first video I've seen of it since I taped it from the 1970 broadcast. The deas guests included: Chet Huntley, Alan King, Milton Berle, Henny Youngman, Dick Cavett and George C. Scott. (Ed Herlihy did all the commercials.)

@JAldridge86 I did some research based on what I remembered and discovered it was Pat Buttram. The routine is on "Funniest Roasts of the Century Vol. 2". You can listen to a snippet of Buttram (or buy theCD with Buttram's entire routine) at Amazon. Buttram was the sidekick of screen cowboy Gene Autry. Milton Berle introduced him at the roast and actually had some pretty good lines, too saying Buttram he had a "black belt in cowshit." LOL

@meanwiddlekid Yep, even nowadays those roasts couldn't make it onto network tv without heavy editing. Have you heard the roast by the guy -- I guess he was part of a western singing or musical group during the 1940s or 50's, I'd never heard of him previously -- who absolutely KILLED the audience at one Friars Club roast? It's been a long time since I heard the tape of that roast but man, he absolutely knocked it out of the park. In fact, at one point between all the laughter you can clearly
