He has dry skin. If it does not get daily lotion applications, it turns gray, also called ashy.

LOL! I know, I know, I know. Keeping him from looking ashy was a big chore. We used to chase him and hold him down and oil him. He hated it so we did the best we could.
He is very tenderheaded, don't even ask me about his hair.
